Coming Home to the Cattleman (HR May-08)

Jenny's Mother took her away from her Father and their Oklahoma ranch when she was eight. Her Mother and Grandmother insured that Jenny and her Father never had any contact with each other in the past 18 years by keeping the letters each of them faithfully wrote for the first few years and other lies.  Jenny's Dad, Sam, began to drink and one night Jason Welborn stops him from driving home drunk.  Jason is trying to make enough money to buy a ranch of his own and Sam persuades him to stay on giving him part of the ranch for each year that he stays. Jason becomes Sam' partner and almost son. Sam is a reformed drinker.  Now' Jenny's Mother has died and Jenny wants to come home to her Father. With so many lies and so much time between them seeing each other this may be impossible.

This was a very enjoyable read. I liked the fact that Sam was able to stop drinking and start living again. I loved that Jenny found a way to keep on riding horses even in New York. I really liked the ending.

When I get a little money I buy books, and then if any is left I buy food and clothes..-- Erasmus
