The Constant Princess

Front CoverThis is an amazing story really...to think that a 16 year old girl can step into life in a foreign court, unfamiliar with it's politics and even it's language and manipulate and scheme and achieve glory and triumph speaks volumes about her upbringing by mommy, who just happened to be Queen Isabella of Spain.

I'm a sucker for a dramatic rolicking historical and this story had it in spades, and I really like the way that the author plays hard and fast with the known history and fiddles with it JUST to the point where you think....eh, maybe it happened that way and maybe it didn't but who's to say so, and heck it makes for a great story.   She was one heck of a stateswoman and I think it's generally acknowledged that it was she who taught Henry diplomacy and statesmanship....he had a fine sense of gratitude didn't he?
