Favourite Scene:
'Would you like to sit down?' she asked nervously, bending down to scoop a pile of magazines off a chair. Her top rode up a few inches at the back to reveal a slender strip of pale creamy skin.
'No ...' His drawl was thickened by his Greek accent and his hands clenched into defensive fists. He wanted to touch that smooth, tantalising stretch of naked flesh in view. In fact he wanted to do a whole hell of a lot more than just touch Hope. After weeks of enduring a worryingly uninterested libido, he was rampant. He wanted to drag her down on the bed, rip off her clothes and have sex with her. Hot and deep and fast, out of control, mind-blowing as it was only with her.
Another Fav Scene:
'You never ate a grain of food in that apartment that I did not pay for ... does that make you a kept man?' Hope enquired curtly.
Stark naked, Andreas swung back at that facetious question. 'What's that supposed to mean?'
'I bought all the food. My small contribution to our shared life,' Hope informed him, her turquoise eyes over-bright. 'But you thought you had bought me.'
My Review:
The heroine was a virgin at 28 because she'd been caring for her sick mom. I liked that the heroine embraced the way the hero made her feel, and deliberately enjoyed what he could give her because it was what she wanted. I'm glad she went into the affair for herself, because it was what she wanted. They break up because his sister tells lies about her. When the hero eventually finds out she didn't have that supposed affair with a man, he's really emotional about whether she's had an affair since then. It was a good "shoe on the other foot" moment, where the hero thought he had no right to be jealous and could only blame himself if she had because he'd misjudged her badly. He hasn't wanted another woman since her (score one for a faithful hero!). He wants her back any way he can keep her, but she wants more of his heart this time around. Once they do get their HEA, it's quite a HEA and they are just so darn happy and fulfilled together. So sweet. The heroine really was very mature and giving, marriage wasn't a goal for her, love and a committment to family were. Great read. Somewhat unbelievable that the heroine got to be over 5 months pregnant before realizing.
My Rating: 4.5/5 stars, faithful hero, hugely intense shared passion, no hypocrisy, KEEPER.
