Curveball by Kate Angell

In this book, Kate Angell returns to the Richmond Rogues by focusing on the Bat Pack: Cody 'Psycho' McMIllan, Jesse 'Romeo' Bellisaro, and Chase 'Chaser' Tallan. The book starts with these three ballplayers being suspended for their part in a pre-season brawl against their own teammates on Media Day.

Psycho meets his match in Keely Douglas, a down-on-her-luck woman who wants to become an interior designer. Lucky for her she happens to drop by on the same afternoon as a group of women who have been nagging him to restore his colonial home to its former glory. She charms the women by lying about her ancestry and Pyscho gives her a chance to prove herself after getting the women off his back.

As part of his suspension, Romeo is ordered to purchase a new suit for reporter Emerson Kent to replace the one which got ruined when he knocked her down during the brawl. His attraction to her grows the more she resists his charm. The question for him is whether or not he will be able to turn his time with her from business to pleasure.

As for Chaser, an accidental kiss with his childhood friend and neighbor, Jen, leads him to the realization that she is the one for him. Now he has to convince her that he is the one she wants as well.

Watching these three couples come together was a lot of fun. Kate Angell infuses her characters with a lot of humor and I had a smile almost all the way through the book. Again, a book that baseball fans should not miss.
