This book is the first in the series "The Taken" but is loosely connected to a previous series. In Kathleen's book Secret Agent Sam Samantha married Cory Pearson who was searching for his four "lost" siblings, who were separated from him after an unspeakable tragedy claimed their parents. Wade is one of the brothers.
Wade Callahan was a police dectective in Portland, Oregon. He was trying to catch a serial killer who had killed six times already.
Tierney Doyle was an empath and the police had asked her to join in the search. She is able to pick up feelings of people involved in crimes.
Although Wade does not believe in her she picks up a feeling from the killer that he is afraid of uniforms and that is why he is killing the people he kills. And when this is checked out by the police the six people killed so far had worn uniforms. This gives the police a place to start and eventually they find out who he is. Now they just have to catch him. Tierney has also picked up feelings of someone who is watching Wade but has no intention of harming him.
This is an excellent story and very gripping.
