Death Angel
The latest work by Linda Howard, Death Angel skirts around the inner circle of drug wars, hired killers, and crime lords.
Drea Rousseau has figured out how to act dumb, so that she can work her way out of the life she once had into the one she thinks she wants. However, one afternoon at the hands of a skilled lover, who just happens to be a hired killer shows her that the life she is leading is not the one she truly wants.
Drea decides that the time to use her backup plan is now, but not before she tries a few tricks she's been holding up her sleeves. Her disappearance from the life of crime lord Rafael Salinas does not go unnoticed by the man, and when her final act of violation against him becomes known to him he wants the ultimate revenge on her.
Simon, the man with whom Drea spent 4 very sensual hours is hired to assissinate her, but when push comes to shove can he follow through with the plan?
Death Angel could be a story of redemption, but for that to be the case one would have to suspend some beliefs that some people are truly that gullible, and that others can change their lives on a dime.
While Death Angel was readable and probably better than some of the more recent things I have read from Ms. Howard it still didn't hold a candle to my personal favorite Mr. Perfect.
