Death Angel by Linda Howard Unabridged Audio 2008

Drea Rousseau liked her lifestyle, being arm candy for Rafael Salinas, notorious crime boss. That is until Rafael gave her to his assassin for payment for a hit. Drea knew she had to get out, it was time and she was ready to start a new life somewhere else. She had made extensive plans for when the time to leave came....

She'd forgotten something, after all her planning but she knew the assassin had found her. It was too late now, she had to get away. This was really good but so different from her other books.

I enjoyed this book as

I enjoyed this book as well, the turn-around that Drea makes was very interesting.  The ending also felt very different to me.  Overall, I found it excellent, but not really my normal cup of tea - if that makes sense.

Cady

I know what you mean. I like my characters to be upstanding citizens and I feel not many authors could make me enjoy such a book.

Wow... this sounds as though Linda Howard...

has taken a real left turn!  I'm going to have to see if it's in the stores in paperback... but not likely.  Ah well....

I got mine from the library - thats where I get all my hardcovers.

Deb - Yeah, it is hard when the main characters have - lets say - unique morals.  Yet, amazingly, she was able to pull me in and have me care for them.

Hi Deb

I started reading this one the other day. I am getting pulled in but I was really, really surprised at what is happening. I don't want to spoil things by saying too much. Just that it is different than what I expected but it is very enjoyable so far.

Margie :)

Ok Kelley

Carol has it now but you can be next. Margie, I was very surprised with her characters but I did enjoy it.
