This is the third installment of the series. In this book, Jeff is hoping to elope with Mary, but Letty screws things up and he ends up having to marry her instead. Unhappy about this turn of events, Jeff is pleased when the war office sends him off to Dublin. Letty, not so happy, follows and off the adventure begins. The stories are a bit silly, but I do enjoy them.. I am looking forward to Mary & Lord Vaughn’s story up next. Overall, an enjoyable story with fun reference to spies and the such. Hi Cady
Congrats on reading Book # 100! I saw this book at the library and thought it looked interesting--can it be read on its own?
Mary
Hi Cady
Congratulations on your 100th book!!!
I've never heard of this book or the others in the series. At least the do not sound familiar to me.
Margie :)
Mary & Margie - The book is
Mary & Margie - The book is part of a four book series (so far), it runs with a contemporary researcher looking for information about the flower spies (i,e. Scarlet Pimpernel) of the French/British war (the Napolean one). The narrator has a slight romance (very slight), but each book contains a historical romance. The books are not the best literature I have ever read, but they appeal to me. I loved the Scarlet Pimpernel - both the book and the movie with Anthony Andrews, so these books appeal to me. If you are interested in reading them, I would recommend starting with book one - The Secret of the Pink Carnation. You could read them as stand-alones, but would miss some of the elements.

They sound really
They sound really interesting. I have never read The Scarlet Pimpernel but I love the movies. I have seen the one you mentioned. I believe that one has Jane Seymore in it too. I'll watch it anytime it is on.
Margie :)
That is the movie, I loved
That is the movie, I loved both of them in it and my mom got me to read the book - I loved it. I would recommend checking your library, mine had a lot of copies of the series. I did it book 1 & 3 in audio, but 2 in print as the library didn't have it in audio. I would recommend either format, although I thought the reader was excellent.

Thanks
Cady--thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure my library system has all of the books. I've seen the movie The Scarlet Pimpernel but have not read the book.

I will be interested to see
I will be interested to see what you both think of them.

...Pink Carnation
Cady--I ordered the first book on audio. I will let you know what I think. These books must be very popular. My library has all four print books and they were all out when I checked today. So, I figured I'd order the audio version.

I will be interested to see what you think. I really enjoy the reader. At times, the story seems a bit silly, however I enjoyed them.

Hi Cady
I just started listening to this one. Finished Hen and Miles story last night. There are really fun. Thanks for bringing them to my attention. I am expecting that Jane will eventually get a book too. Do you know how long the series runs?
Margie :)
No clue, but I would love
No clue, but I would love to see Jane's story. I know that she has one coming out this year and is working on next years now. So I imagine for a while. Glad you are enjoying them.

I checked her web site and the next one out is about Hen's friend Charlotte. If she gets a story, then I'm sure Jane will too someday.
