Double Jeopardy

I am really impressed with the quality and diversity of the Love Inspired Suspense books. I’ve read a few of them and they’ve all been good. The latest one I read, Double Jeopardy, deals with a woman, Anne Jones, who witnesses the murder of her boss in his Atlantic City, New Jersey hotel/casino. She decides that it is best to go to the police with what she has seen and they place her in protective custody. The man she saw murder her boss, Raoul Domingo, is a crime boss and not one for leaving loose ends. Even though he is arrested, he has his people looking for the witnesses to get rid of them. There are three witnesses, two decide to go into protective custody and the other one goes into hiding on their own. Anne is the only one that can identify Raoul as the actual man who murdered her boss. Anne is placed in the WITSEC program and given a new name and identity. In the program she ends up going to Boston College and meets a Professor who begins to mean more to Anne than just a part of the job of setting up a new computer system.

Living in New Jersey and having part of the story take place here and in Boston made it much more real. It is a great story as we see Anne and the Professor struggle within themselves about their growing attraction to each other and their differences in faith. A story that grabs you from the “get go” and keeps you turning the pages.

From the back cover:    EYEWITNESS IN JEOPARDY…

Witness to a brutal murder, Anne Jones bravely agrees to testify. She is given a new name, a new history and is advised not to get too close to, anyone. But she does-and with good reason. Somehow, her identity has been compromised. Someone knows who-and where-she is. Anne’s handsome boss Patrick Mc Clain, is himself witness to the scare tactics being used against her and vows to keep her safe. Yet she will have to disappear all over again, lest she put both their lives in jeopardy.
