If you have never tried a Nancy Warren book I would recommend this one as a good start! If you have read Nancy Warren be sure to include this on your TBR list.
Small town librarian, Alexandria Forrest, does not look the role! Alex is sexy, dresses with a style that has any man still breathing taking a good long look. Duncan Forbes is still breathing and taking advantage of looking up when Alex is perched above him shelving books. When Alex discovers his gaze looking up her skirt she gives him an icy stare that does not go with her provocative clothing.
Duncan is in the small Oregon town of Swiftcurrent to follow up on a rumor that a priceless Van Gogh might be here. The painting disappeared during World War II when lots of valuable art was stolen or destroyed by the Nazi regime. Duncan was disappointed to find that Franklin Forrest had died two months ago as he is the one man that may know where the painting is. Instead of joining the family business of stealing Duncan has chosen to become a professor of art and to quote an article "the Indiana Jones of the art world", recovering missing items for the rightful owners.
The morning after Alex first meets Duncan she discovers a dead body in her library, coincedence that a stranger shows up this small town then a dead man? This romantic suspense has humor, good characters, heat and a storyline that will keep you turning pages. A most enjoyable read. It kept me reading past my usual bedtime!
