From the cover ……
When your first love gives you a second chance…
When a marriage of twenty years ends, is there any going back? Can you regain what's been lost? For heart surgeon Jack Morgan the answer is yes.
Paralyzed by a stroke, he has no choice but to turn to his ex-wife, Anne--just as if they were still married. During the months that follow, they discover that the memories of their marriage have an unexpected power to bring forgiveness--and the return of a love that never really left.
The narrator did an awesome job reading this story. The shift between the past and present was done very well, which is a credit to both the author and the narrator. Not once is there a doubt that Jack and Annie love each other deeply and really should be together. The break down of their marriage had been devastating to both of them. Pride and stubbornness are powerful things and often get in the way of honest communication. Ms. Gold created two characters that are far from perfect, and has wrought their journey to a HEA with many obstacles. This heartfelt lovestory is a testimony of the endurance of love.

Hi Katherine,
I normally would walk the other way from emotional reads, but all the rave reviews for many of the books to this line finally got to me, so i caved and bought this one first, then after reading and enjoying it so much, i bought several others.
I have to admit, there were times, well into the story, when the h started to irritate me a bit...but what she was doing gives me the "same" problem in "any" romance story. So i guess that makes it a pet peeve of mine.

Hi Kathy ..
there were a few moments then Annie kind of got to me too .. but then I reminded myself that she was not privey to Jack's feelings like we were .....
this was the first for me in the Everlasting line .. it probably would still be in my TBR if it weren't an audio ... I really enjoy Kristi Gold, so I'm glad I was able to give this one a listen to now

I've loved all Kristi's
I've loved all Kristi's "Doctor For" books i've read and always planned to read more of hers, but my out-of-control tbr foils many of my reading plans from becoming a reality.

will look forward to reading this...
I purchased quite a few books from the Everlasting Love line but only read 1. I will look forward to this one but it is packed since we're likely moving in early July...
Great review...

Great blog on this one.
Great blog on this one. Rhis is one of the few unread ELs in my secret stash. I love Everlasting Love! Last year they were some of my best reads. I love the past/present and how the books gave me a sense of perspective.

Fall From Grace
I read this last year as well. I think it was my first EL book. I read it on a Sunday. I remember so clearly not being able to truly sit it aside. I would try so that I could do other Sunday things, but it kept calling to me, and before I knew it the entire book was finished. Now if I could remember whether or not I was crying!
Someone somewhere on the list(I just can't remember who) is looking for some EL books, and I have a couple of duplicate ones. If that person reads this, or if it's you they could contact me, and I'd be glad to share.

This was my first Everlasting ....
I really like Kristi Gold's books so I was pretty sure I'd enjoy this one ..... I chose it as an audio, as I often have trouble reading longer print books ... and though 300 pages really isn't long, to this weary brain it truly can be
I have it in print and some day I think I will actually read it and see if I missed much in the listening
I do highly recommend this one ... a very poignant story
