Widowed Maggie Taylor has a neat orderly life and one cardinal rule -- never to become involved with the paying guests at her tiny inn. However, when on leave US Marshal Nate Griffith spoils her plans to go away and shows up on her doorstep, Maggie finds herself drawn to him in ways that she has not expereinced since her husband died. She finds her faith being restored in life, love and most of all herself. But can she truly trust him?
For Nate, it was supposed to be a job, but he discovers that he is drawn more and more to this woman, and faces the choice between his mission and being true to his heart.
This book is related to Donna's earlier Hired by the Cowboy and Marrriage at Circle M. Maggie was Mike's foster carer. Like all of Donna's books, D&D packs an emotional punch. It is one of those books that could have easily been twice as long, but Donna has skillfully handled the complex emotions as well as not letting the intrigue overwhelm the romance.
Emotinal feel good read and I am immensely proud to be her critque partner

Oh, I've been waiting for this one!
I didn't realize it'd come out yet! Nice review. How cool that you're her critique partner! But it shouldn't have surprised me, because you're both awesome writers!
Oh wait... it's not out here in the US yet, is it? Boo hoo,
I forgot about the time difference.

Amanda ...
if you're into eBooks it's available now at the eHarl eBoutique :) ... if not you have to wait until tomorrow to order it here at the eHarl bookstore

I have to confess....
...I haven't bought but a handful of ebooks, because I still prefer the feel of the book in my hand. Call me old-fashioned.
But I do like them sometimes. Anyway, it comes out in book form tomorrow? Cool! It'll be plunked into my cart! I'm getting myself in trouble ordering so many books! When will it stop? Never!

Amanda ....
Now that I'm confident in mobipocket as a consistent ebook reader and that they'll be around for quite awhile, I don't mind the ebooks ..... I picked up a Palm LifeDrive that I use for work, and put all the ebooks on a smart card ... it's great I have 100 ebooks to chose from and there's room on the card for at least 700 more books! ... but that's mobipocket's format the other readers formats take up more space
my physical TBR is too much ... and there are books in series or autobuy authors that I'll still pick up in print form .. but I think for new authors I might try ebook first or new series ... I also find I can read an ebook faster for some reason

Faster?
Now that, I could handle. I'd love to read my books faster! I'm so darned behind!

It comes out tomorrow
Because I am Donna's critque partner, Donna always posts me a copy when she gets her first copy. It is always very interesting to see the book in printed form.We both only see early drafts...
My dd enjoyed this one as well, once she got over the older woman, younger man bit. It is funny what bothers some people. Personally, I did not have a problem with it, and the central conflcit deals with other issues.
And as per usual with Donna's books, it made me cry.

I like stories involving....
...older women with younger men - which is the opposite scenario from my own life. My DH is eleven years older than me (which in our case is probably a good thing). Anyway some of my favorite books have older women with younger guys - Beth Ciotta's 'Evie' books, and Snowfall at Willow Lake by Susan Wiggs. And the other day on the Lifetime channel, I watched a movie about an older woman writing to a man in England and posing as her daughter to hook the two up. Of course, the original plan backfired when the younger man actually fell for the mother. It was a very sweet movie. But since I caught it after it started, I don't know the title. Anyway, there's something a little intriguing in the whole idea of the 'looking past age' concept. I'm sure I'll like Donna's book!

Yep, got Mr. Dark in there, Michelle! I also ordered Holly Jacob's Everlasting Romance book, Same Time Next Summer. I'm still open to more new ones. I really keep getting myself in trouble buying so many books! LOL But I'm loving it!

Donna....
I read an excerpt from Mr. Dark and liked it. You applied all five senses when you described Maggie's B&B bathroom. I could smell the cinnamon scent and visualize the room through Nate's eyes as he took in the details, relating the calm ambiance of the room to Maggie. Somehow tiny sensory details like those help to involve me in a story. Plus your characters always pack a lot of emotional punch!
