The Fidelity Files by Jessica Brody

I never ever would have known about this book if it weren't for a review on MSN.  It was featured on their home page and it looked intriguing, so I checked it out from the library.  It's got a lot of pages and took me a while to read, but I did it.  And I'm glad.  It's a great book!

This book is about a woman who does fidelity inspections for a living.  She is hired by wives who assume their husbands are cheating on them.  She is told all about the husband (his job, his interests, his background, etc.) so she can appear appealing to him when she meets him for the first time (which is a planned event that he doesn't know about).  She tests him to see if he will 'pass' the test - having sex with her.  Of course she doesn't go as far as that, and she stops the encounter to get dressed and leave her card with a number on it.  That's when the men realize they've been 'found out' if you will.

I liked this book a lot.  It was a first book by the author and I look forward to more from her.

Caskets of jewels and coffers of gold.
Richer than I you can never be--
I had a mother who read to me."
