First You Run by Roxanne St. Claire, Pocket Star Books 2008, Bullet Catchers series

If you have not tried a Roxanne St. Claire book I highly recommend reading one.

This is the first book in a new Bullet Catchers trilogy.  I've already started on the second book!  If you like romantic suspense you will love these books!

The Bullet Catchers are a very elite group of people working for a security and investigative organization run by Lucy Sharpe.  Adrien Fletcher is one of this group now asking Lucy for a special favor to help a friend.  The friend is a former Bullet Catcher that is now persona non grata in Lucy's eyes.  She knows that Aussie born, Adrien will honor his Bullet Catcher obligations so she says yes to the request to help his friend find someone.

Adrien's quest is to find the adopted daughter of a woman serving a life sentence for murder, a crime she claims she did not commit.  The baby was adopted illegaly through a small organization called The Sapphire Trail.  The birth mother is dying of lukemia but a bone marrow transplant might save her life.  The only way to identify the baby is by a tattoo or mark that was put there just after the birth in a location that is almost impossible for the person to see.  Adrien has a way with the ladies and figures he can charm just about any female out of her clothes so that while making love to her he can inspect every delectable inch of her body to see if she has a tattoo.

 Dr. Miranda Lang is making a name for herself in the world of anthropology.  Dr. Lang teaches at the prestigious university in Berkley.  She is embarking on a tour to promote her book Cataclysn't.  The book and Dr. Lang explain that despite dire predictions, the world is not going to come to an end in 2012.  She is an expert on the Maya civilization that have a "long calendar" ending in 2012 which has allowed a segment of society to predict the end of the world.

At her first book signing and lecture in Berkley a radical group promoting the end of the world in 2012 disrupt the proceedings while spouting their beliefs.  Adrien is in the back of the room watching what is happening.  When things start getting out of control he gets Miranda out of the room protecting her from anything harmful.  Now, the stage is set for a very interesting story that will keep you turning pages to see just what happens next!  There are several story lines going on that are all intertwined to keep this first book in the new trilogy very hard to put down.  The book is filled with interesting characters, charismatic men and of course, a love connection.
