Forgotten Marriage by Paula Roe (SD 1824)

Back Cover:

A tragic accident had erased pieces of billionaire Finn Sorensen's memory. Including all recollection of his wife. But what wife?

The one he'd been told had married him for his money? The one who now owned a controlling share of his family's jewelry empire?

Ally McKnight's image was burned into Finn's memory from photographs--pictures that captured the passion between them. It was time she received a surprise visit from her long-lost husband. The one who wouldn't let her forget just what she owed him.

My Review:

They were married and fought because he overworked, she left him.  She was pregnant and didn't tell him.  Two and a half months later, the hero comes to find her because he has amnesia and needs to jog his memory.  He thinks she can help him because he has had flashbacks around items of hers.  She reluctantly helps him.  I liked the passion that binds them together.  I liked how every time he looked at her he thought "my woman".

About the end: (spoilers) he doesn't quite remember everything, but he remembers his feelings for her and their marriage.  I didn't quite enjoy the ending, it left me feeling a bit sad, the hero didn't remember everything about them breaking up and I would fear that because he doesn't know how he felt when they split, and why he let her go, he might end up feeling that way in the future.  He's not making a fully informed decision that she is the one for him.  I also got a niggling bad feeling about the fact that, from the timeline of events in this story, the hero had a new girlfriend within 2 weeks of the heroine leaving him.  They were married: why didn't he try to hang on to her?  Why did he have to move on immediately?  It's too soon after their last "fight" and it feels like hurtful infidelity/adultery even if the heroine didn't have recriminations.  About the cover: the heroine was cute and I liked her hair/eyes/dress, but the hero's shoulders were too giant for his body and his head looked too small in comparison, also his eyes were vacant.

My Rating: 3/5 stars, good story, I liked the passion between them.
