I found an old ('04) Christmas anthology to read. I wanted an antho as I have been very busy this week and thought short stories would be good and these 3 were.
It's very HOT, our first hot spell, where I live so this was fun to read at this time.
The 3 heroines have a weather delay at O'Hare airport in Chicago and due to that have a good time together and plan to meet again on their way back home to tell about their holiday--
Annette Broadrick's story TWO'S COMPANY was cute. 2 long time friends are to meet in St Croix over Christmas to have a good time slumber party in a lovely warm part of the world in their own little cottage. Karyn lives in NYC and Kayla lives in Salem, Oregon. Kayla is going to law school. Karyn has her brother go in her place to do a little matchmaking unknown to either H/h <G> Kayla has had a crush on Mark for years. Cute story
Stella Bagwell's HOME ON LEAVE has Greta and her 4 y.o. flying to Houston from Kennebunk, Maine for a Christmas with her inlaws. With the death of her husband 3 years ago she has been too sad to visit but the feelings of guilt about Lilly missing out being with her grandparents has made the decision for her. Her BIL, Brodie, is also home on leave, he is an Army Captain in Special Forces, they don't really know each other but of course that changes LOL I enjoyed this one too
Kathie DeNosky's SMOKY MOUNTAIN CHRISTMAS has Megan as our heroine who lives in Springfield, Illinois she wants to spend Christmas in the cabin in Whisper Mountain, Tenn she has inherited from her grandpa. Along with his death she has lost her job and broken up with the man she's been dating for over 2 years-he didn't want anything to do with her right after her grandfather's death. She had been so close to grandpa but had never been to the cabin. She meets Lucas, Grandpa's friend and the caretaker of the cabin, what a hunk! Lucas realizes Megan needs to be busy instead of being all alone. He helps her through her grief and to celebrate Christmas. Both discover love! Very entertaining novella
