Goes Down Easy by Alison Kent
This is the second book in the "Red Letter Nights" series set in New Orleans. Jack Montgomery has come to town on the trail of a kidnap victim except the trail goes cold. Then a newspaper reporter links psychic Della Brazille with the investigation. Jack goes to Della shop and meets her niece Perry. Jack doesn't believe in Della's abilities, but so many of her visions have been right that he starts to doubt his convictions. He also doesn't believe in the ghost of a jazz singer is haunting the house even though he can hear her singing. Perry and Jack are immediately attracted to each other and though they don't believe there is really a future in it become lovers. Della is also realizing some things about NOPD detective Book Franklin that she has worked with before. She's in love with him. Good story. Very nice second romantic storyline with Della and Book too.
"It is to the credit of human nature that, except where its selfishness is brought into play, it loves more readily than it hates."
