Grace Under Fire (Silhouette 2003)

Three years ago, Grace Beaumont lost her husband, her father and her unborn child in a car accident.  She also came very close to losing her own sanity.  She managed to pull herself together and began running the company her father left behind to help herself heal from the past.  Then one morning, she opens her mail to discover that someone says the accident that claimed her family was not an accident at all, but a deliberate assassination by mob boss Booth Fortier.

Grace is determined to discover if the accusation is true, so she calls the Dundee Agency to investigate.  Among the agents that are sent to Grace is Jed Tyree who will investigate the letter's allegations while acting as Grace's bodyguard. 

In spite of herself, Grace finds that she is attracted to Jed and that the attraction is mutual.  However, Jed has a personal stake in bringing down Fortier, and he keeps a part of that reason a secret from Grace.  The secret could tear their new relationship apart before it has a chance to grow.
