2 weeks before Rhiannon Davies’s friend died she gave Rhiannon legal guardianship of her daughter, Annabel and the named Lukas Petrakides as the father. Rhiannon’s plan is to reunite father and daughter, Lukas falls in love with his daughter and father and daughter live happily ever after, but things turn out much differently. Lukas tries to have her thrown out of the party she is attending to get close to him. He denies he is the father. Since he wouldn’t listen to her privately she blurts out publicly he is a father. Soon the press is flooded with stories of Lukas having a secret love child, so he takes Rhiannon and Annabel to his Greek Island until paternity is established. If indeed it turns out that Annabel is a Petrakides then Lukas will take care of her out of duty. But Rhiannon doesn’t want Lukas to care for Annabel out of duty but out of love. If it turns out Annabel is a Petrakides will Rhiannon be cut out of her life? Did someone lie and Lukas isn’t the father?

While Rhiannon may have acted needy (she was willing to settle for scraps of love) and naïve (she hoped the Lukas could love her one day) at times, she was also a strong h. She laid herself bare and took chances. Even though she figured some answers may hurt she still asked the questions. There were many surprises in this book. So many times I found myself going “wow, I did not expect that” I thought the conclusion came about too fast. I think there were only 2 pages devoted to his realization that what he felt was love.
