The Greek Tycoon's Unexpected Wife by Annie West (HP Extra 6)

Back Cover:

Stavros Denakis is furious when Tessa Marlowe turns up without warning. Weary and cynical through his experience with women, Stavros suspects the wife he hardly knows is a gold digger—surely she's here to claim her share of the Denakis millions. But Tessa is a temptation that he can't resist….

Bedded by her gorgeous Greek husband, Tessa realizes she has fallen in love with him, and longs for their marriage to become real. Only, Stavros, though he may be passionate in private, remains cold in public, and is determined they stay wedded only in name….

My Review:

They married four years ago in name only to escape a civil war mess.  They got separated, he thought she'd died, but at present she comes to him on the eve of his engagement to another woman to return his ring (she never knew it was a legal marriage).  He's immediately suspicious of her motives and thinks it's a blackmail attempt.

Mmm, this was highly sensual, it just made my heartbeat pick up!  The hero was stubborn and out to think the utter worst of the heroine, but he kept being proven wrong, and still he couldn't trust her or let himself admit he loved her.  You would think a reader would dislike a stubborn hero like that, but you could just see the emotion swirling beneath his doubts and it was clear he was emotionally shattered by his unexpected feelings for the heroine.  I liked how the hero's father sided with the heroine.  I liked that the hero decided he wanted her permanently, even before he was ready to admit he loved her.  Yummy read.  Good innocent heroine.

Rating: 4/5 stars, yummy.
