Guilty As Sin
Attorney General Jake found himself with a murder wrap after being found at the scene with blood on his hands. So Susan was chosen to defend him. Susan herself had an axe to grind with him because he convicted her father of a crime he did not commit, but he did not know that. She was going to defend him though because the case would make her career. However she did not know whether he commited the crime and she would resist the attraction between them.
The present DA was only interested in convicting Jake for the crime and did all in his power to make him look guilty, but Susan was a good lawyer who won all her cases against the DA. Upon investigation they discovered many suspects to the murder and was able to get Jake off without revealing his secret because of the opportunities other people had to kill the victim.
After getting Jake off and looking now to deal with the passion that existed between them Susan found the murder weapons in her apartment and immediately headed to the nearest station, then changed her mind and came back to tell Jake about it when the real killer showed up.
This book was really good, I enjoyed every moment and I did not peg the murderer until very late in the book, it was not obvious at all.
