The Hard Case Crime imprint is a publishing line dedicated to the "pulp
paperback" style. Some of the books are reissues and some are original.
The covers are pretty wonderful.
The Guns of Heaven was originally published in 1983 and reissued
in 2006. It's a suspense story about a reporter who gets mixed up in an
IRA plot. There is drinking, double-crossing, and drama. I always enjoy
a story with an Irish backdrop and this one was pretty good. (I have no
idea if the IRA parts are accurate in any way--I was reading it as a
novel, not history.)
My husband has enjoyed reading his way through the books in this line. I think I may follow him down the path!
