He seemed completely immune to her
Rich girl Lara Schoffield had never met a man she couldn't instantly captivate, and in fact she'd made a hobby of collecting hearts and breaking them while she remained personally uninvolved.
Until she encountered Jordan Sinclair. He was devastating, everything a woman could ask for. And he was utterly indifferent to Lara.
But what Lara wanted, Lara got, and she was determined to have Jordan Sinclair. Even if it meant playing with the potent fire of his passion, and playing with Jordan was very dangerous indeed...

Spoiler Warning: All my reviews contain spoilers to some degree

Favourite Scene: (I like how he makes sure ALL of the competition is out of the way)

'Is Wentworth out of the picture now?'
'I don't see that—'
'Is he?' Jordan bit out in a rasping voice.
Her rebellion died a swift death as she recognised a will far stronger than her own. 'I hope so,' she admitted tightly.
'And Basil?'
'Was never in it,’ she scorned.
'Gary?’
'Not him, either. Look, Mr Sinclair—'

My Review:

The heroine is quite a tease, and some readers might find her unsympathetic as a heroine.  The hero gets fed up with her ways and rapes her, bruising her with his rough touch, so be forewarned.  I guess she did provoke it, but no one deserves that and he should have accepted her no because he knew she wasn't turned on.  He did at least grovel sufficiently after.  The hero was a bit of an ass when she got possessive of him around his ex-lover.  It was hypocritical of him to tell her off for it when he was so darn possessive of her that he actually raped her and was violent with her.  He married her for revenge (it was about his mother) and then he proceeded to date other women and throw them in her face.  Sick creep, even if he wasn't actually having sex with the other women (as he said) and he thought he deserved his revenge.  The heroine was too forgiving imo, telling him "I'll always love you, no matter what you do to me", I know that's mature of her but have a little self-respect, women should expect to be treated like a princess and loved.

My Rating: 3/5 stars, the heroine was a bit immature and I just didn't feel too great about the dynamic between the H/h, there's a lot I felt other readers should be "forewarned" about, and that's probably a bad sign.

This doesn't sound that great.

I've read a few by this author and have liked them.  But I doubt I'll search this one out.

It was passionate... and

It was passionate... and there was fidelity... which are two pretty big plusses in general in an HP.  But there were parts of the story like I said which aren't going to appeal to some readers: the immature/tease of a heroine, and the rape issue.

Carole Mortimer is one of the HP authors who is always a "safe" read for me...  I know that she won't have my particular major ick factors in her books: her stories are usually fairly light hearted with passion and fidelity.  I haven't found any of her books depressing.

So yeah... I do recommend her books as a whole!
