Haunting Melody by Mackenzie Reed
For centuries, Joshua has survived on the sexual emotions of others, feeding off the desires, needs and hungers through his music. Until now. WHen Devra steps through the door and into his life, everything changes. His soul cries out to his mate, the one woman who can feed the driving hunger inside him. No longer does he need the emotional high of others. As long as she is there for him....feeding him, needing him, loving him.
Devra's been intrigued by Joshua Thomas since her best friend told her about him, and played a tape of his music. A piano player whose music sends women into orgasms? The reporter in her wants to discover his secret but the woman in her wants to witness the pleasure first hand. But is she ready for the secrets he's hiding and for the hunger and need that rages through her body? A fire that only he can put out? Together these two will discover something hot, and magical. A love that will burn for centuries to come.
I didn't see much romance in this story as it was pack full of intense sex between the two leads. Even when they are discussing serious topics, sex comes into play which I found quite ridiculous. Devra's family is discussed when they are in the middle of an intense lovemaking session which is an absolute ridiculous time to discuss each other's families.
I didn't get much enjoyment out of this book as even the sex scenes were too graphic for my liking. I foiund that Devra and her best friend's acceptance of Joshua reality is a little too quick and there wasn't much sense of incredulous disbelief after he revealed his true identity.
It was an OK read overall but not a book that I would re-read again.
