Heart of the Lonely Exile

Second in a series of 5 books relating the Irish struggle from the time they left Ireland to finding their place in America. Each book is complete in itself, and one does not need to read the whole set.   In this book, our struggling widow find a place to live in the home of a rich ship builder and his adult daughter.  She is "pledged" to marry a childhood friend who is now an Irish policeman.  However, she falls in love with an Englishman who has promised to protect her.  Meanwhile, her first love has been shot in Belfast and is paralized.  A combination of faith and love endear the participants to your heart and you struggle along with them.
