#42-Sister Eugenia Smith is engaged to Humphrey Parsons,Medical Registrar at St.Clare's where they both work. Humphrey insists they have to have enough money to buy a home and have all the furnishings before they can even consider getting married. Then there is his mother who continues to run her son's life.
Surgeon Gerard Grenfell is also engaged to a very beautiful woman. Despite this fact,Staff Nurse Hatty Bristow feels Eugenia and Gerard would be a perfect match. When Humphrey made up a diet for Eugenia because he felt she is too large,and Gerard saw it,said she was just fine and ripped it up,she started seeing things differently. Things continued to change after she went to Lisbon with Gerard to care for a special patient of his. Gerard became acquainted with her family also which only added to her mixed emotions.
This was another of Betty Neels wonderfully written books that include travel,medical,and love that make for a very pleasant read.

Sad to hear about your cat!
Aunt Cheryl, I hope your other kittys will help fill the hours so you don't miss UnChat quite so much. I know it takes a lot to get over a friend you have been with for so long, though :-( I lived with my cat Mowgli for 16 years and I still miss him every day.
As Mowgli's vet told me, the other kittys will remind us of how our loved cats were when they were having better days, and he has certianly been right!

. Yes,the other cats are helping alot,but UnChat was one of a kind. I was vacuuming the bedroom where she mostly stayed and I swear I saw her lying on the bed looking healthier and happier than she has been-seemed like a sign to me(of course there are those who would have other ideas).
