Jessie Manning has a problem. Her boyfriend has just wiped out her bank account and left a good-by note on the pregnancy test that she bought the night before. She is working at the Green Garter when she faints and Brock Sullivan rescues her. Brock is going to going to be on a aircraft carrier for six months when he helps Jessie by marrying her. When Brock is injured and shipped home he and Jessie, having become friends, become lovers. But Brock has issues that keeps him from really loving Jessie.
I really enjoyed this book. I was shocked, because the back blurb said that Brock was a seal. But in the book he was a master chief. But that aside, the characters were great and there was some humor. I have to admit I did get a little weepy toward the end.
