Gentle but ever so romantic read. A get lost in the book kind of read.
Jesse Manning got dumped. It's not just geting dumoed but how she got dumped by her no-good smuck of a boyfriend the second the pregnancy test read positive. When Jesse collapses at the bar Green Garter, in steps Navy Chief Brock Sulivan, Navy SEAL. A man full of duty and honor, not only does he take her to the hspital but he offers her his house. That's not all he offer her! With deployment just a heartbeat away, this serious Navy man offers her marriage! Broke and needing to care for her baby, Jesse takes Brock up on his offer. Can this Navy SEAL give her something she haw nnever had before? Can this dutiful and honorable man find that sometimes life is about more than duty and prowess?

This was a wonderful book in which I just lost myself during a very unsettling time. I would recommend havng this book in the bookshelf for just those times when you need to lose yourself in a story and just read. The characxters are great and lovable. Their relationship is mostly a gentle growing together ---with a moment or two of course---and their romance is just pleasant. They have a nice spunk, spark and even fun humor going on between them. He is a great guy, period. Very romantic. Beautiful scene where he makes a connection between Jesse's baby and his life as a Navy man but I think there are even more scenes between him and the baby that just get better and better too. The narrative is very smooth and the gentle yet ever so romantic tone of this book just transports a reader into their world.
As much as I hate number ratings, I would say at first glance, this is a 4.5-5 star read. I will quantify just now just because this is a shorter blog than my usual. Given the circumstances this weekend, the fact that I even could focus on a book was a bit of a small miracle...so that probably tells you more than the number?
