Her Baby, His Proposal(Baby on Board) by Teresa Carpenter - Romance - June 08

Jesse Manning was pregnant, the father of her baby had deserted her, and he had cleaned out her bank account. She worked as a waitress at the Green Garter, a bar and grill near Navy pier. Because she had no money she agrees to work a double shift in spite of feeling sick and having a vicious headache.

Navy Chief Brock Sullivan decided to stop in at the Green Garter. He was set to ship out in six days. As Jesse approached him to take his order she passed out. He insists she go to the hospital where she finds out she has to take it easy or she could lose the baby. After leaving the hospital Brock took Jesse home only to find that her room mate is having a party and she found two people in her bedroom. Brock insists she spend the night in his condo.
Brock suggested they get married so Jesse could have a place to stay and free medical care. Brock would be gone for a long time. But things did not go as planned when he was injured and had to return home early. This turned what was a simple marriage of convenience into something much more complicate since Jesse and Brock were attracted to each other.

I enjoyed the book.
