Her Miracle Man

Book  Eighty-Eight:  “Her Miracle Man”,  Karen Sandler, Silhouette Special Edition ,  May,  c 2008 ,#1901, eBook, Adobe Format, 213 pages

"Her Miracle Man”, features a combined “Stranded in a Cabin" & "Amnesia” theme

I like both the “Stranded in a cabin” and  “Amnesia” themes. “Her Miracle Man”, is heavy reading.  Both the hero and heroine are psychologically damaged.   So just as the heroine is beginning to get a grip on things, the hero goes off the deep end. Then when the hero is about to get his act together, the heroine has a relapse. These are two lost souls who are not really in the best position to help each other. Indeed, they probably never would  be able to help each other except for their forced three week stay in the hero’s cabin. The cabin is isolated do to a road collapse and snow storm. The log cabin is at the top of a mountain in northern California.

To add to these problems the heroine does not want to get her memory back. She would rather just stay in the cabin and not go back to “real” life. The hero has his own problems. He came home and discovered his wife murdered in a very bloody fashion. He was then accused of killing her. This happened over the Christmas holidays five years ago. His usual pattern is to hole up in the mountain cabin for the week of Christmas and have almost no contact with the outside world. During this period he goes through emotional hell until Christmas passes.

If this theme seems a little heavy and dark, consider the author’s dedication to this book:

To the lost souls of the world

Still struggling towards the light.”

This is a dedication that is perfect for “Her Miracle Man”. Nevertheless,  there are many bright spots along the way. As such there is a good balance of sad emotions and happy feelings. This balance works making “Her Magic Man”.  is a very enjoyable reading experience.

If you like these two themes, you should enjoy “Her Magic Man”.

Emotional, Excellent Reading With Interesting Themes
