Format: Print Books
Mia wakes up not knowing where she is, or who she is. She is frightened as she cannot make sense of the world she now inhabits. Jack Traynor is still grieving for his wife who died five years ago. It is approaching the time of year that is the most difficult for him when he comes upon the frightened Mia. He rescues her from a swollen, rushing creek and reluctantly brings her to his house. They become stranded at his house when there is a mudslide that blocks his access road. Will Mia figure out who she is? Will Jack settle the demons that have taken over his life?

Sandler dumps the reader right into an emotionally charged scene. She grabs the reader’s attention and she never lets up on the strong emotion she writes into every scene. This book goes beyond three-dimensional characters—it has the added fourth dimension of high emotional impact. A few other gifted authors have this same ability to transcend the flat page of a book. These will be the books that end up in my keeper pile. These authors become my autobuys. Sandler will join this group. Thumbs up!
