Another vintage Nora, reissued with Song of the West in a book titled "With Open Arms". The two books together were out in 2004.
Gwen Lacrosse is returning to her childhood home in the south to make sure her mother isn't being seduced and taken advantage of my author Luke Powers. Much to Gwen's dismay she is powerfully attracted to the man but fights it because she thinks he is having an affair with her mother. A case of someone jumping to the wrong conclusion!
Gwen's mother, Anabelle, is a dreamy trusting woman that has always taken in boarders so she can keep the gracious, southern home in the family. Gwen often felt as if their roles were reversed and she was the one looking after her mother. Despite the experience Gwen has acquired living in New York city she still has an air of innocence about her that intrigues Luke. Thoughts of Gwen keep intruding on Luke's writing and slows down the progress on his novel. Will these two fight their attraction or find a way to be together?
Another early Nora tale that will keep you reading but has become just a bit outdated. Still a very enjoyable read.
