After the death of her child's father, Tina Lawson moved home to start over with the help of her parents. She joins the local family practice as a locum. The head of the practice, Alex Bowen, is gone the first 3 months of her contract but when he gets back, he's instantly attracted to her. He pursues her thanks to a funny little imp that sits on his shoulder and blocks out all common sense, but first he has to get past her reluctance -- her child's father has only been dead a year and she's worried about betraying him and her child getting hurt.
