Her Stolen Past by Amanda Stevens, Harlequin, 2002

Beth arrived in Cooper’s Corner without much except for her haunting music. Her haunting music captures the heart of Clint Cooper, a co-owner of the Inn. They need to discover much about her past—will their discoveries lead to love?

This is book 11 in the Cooper’s Corner continuity. There is a bit of ‘clock and dagger’ in this book. She has amnesia, suppressing a frightening ordeal. Not my favorite book of the series, but it begins to tie up lose ends and I did enjoy this book as part of the whole collection.

I don't think I have this

I don't think I have this one.  I have been slowly collecting her back issues after reading THE DOLLMAKER last year but I think I missed this one.  I like the ind of empathy she has for her characters.

That is something that does

That is something that does come through in this book. There is an underlying empathy for Beth and for Clint. As a stand alone book I probably would have liked it a lot, but it is part of this Cooper's Corner continuity and there were a couple in the group that I liked better than this one. Also, I think it is hard to make amnesia--especially the all encompassing type that Beth suffered, believeable over the time period. With only one more book in the continuity Stevens does a terrific job of the beginning the process of tying up loose ends.
