-- a woman of mystery --

by - M S .  S O P H I A  J A M E S -

Asher Wellingham, Duke of Carisbrook, was captivated by her!   He had happened upon Emma Seaton swimming naked and, beyond her beauty, had seen the deep curling scar on her thigh -- a wound that could only be the mark of a sword.

Who was this creature of contradictions? Something about her brought back tantalizing memories from the past.  Her ill-fitting , threadbare clothes concealed the body of an Angel, but what kind of woman truly lay behind her refined mask?  Highborn Lady or Artful Courtesan, she intrigued him and Asher wanted to possess both!

"How is it that I know you, Lady Emma?"

"Have we met before?  I do not think the memory or you lingers from England somehow ..."

Desparate to take his mind from recollection, she locked her hand on his and asked him to dance, completely ignoring the look of astonishment on his face,

Asher's body melded against her owmand he found the rhythm of the music with much more finesse than she did.  leaning into him for just a moment, she closed her eyes.

Wishing.

Wishing that she was a wellborn Lady and that he might like her just a little.  Wishing that things could have been different between them and that all he believed of her was true.

RE: HIGH SEAS TO HIGH SOCIETY By Sophia James

Hi Angel ~~ Thanks for being so understanding waiting for me to get back with you.  I've been busy awfully and away from eHarlequin for quite a while.  Well...my blokes...the Detroit Red Wings...did it again...won the Stanley Cup! (that's what's been taking most of my time), plus graduations, Open houses, etc.  I really DO enjoy HISTORICAL novels, and especially stories about ships, PIRATES,and beautiful UK/New World Lasses!  It's an excellent book, and if you lean in that direction, I highly recommend that you get hold of it and read it!
