High Society Mistress

Tempest Lambert is the only daughter of August Lambert, founder of Tempest's Closet, a chain of upscale clothing stores.  When Tempest's father passed her up for promotion, she went to Gavin Renard, her father's arch enemy, and asked for a job.  Gavin had a job for her all right but, it wasn't as an employee!  And Tempest had no way of knowing that Gavin vowed revenge on her father many years ago for destroying his family.  As things moved along, Tempest became what the tabloids called a "High Society Mistress."  But could Tempest melt Gavin's cold, hard heart and could Gavin put his ideas of revenge aside for a chance for true love?

I couldn't connect with this story; I don't know why.  Part of the problem is that I don't think it was proofed well; there were incomplete sentences and in some cases, words missing.  To me, the story lacked depth as well.  There didn't seem to be anything other than a surface plot.  For these reasons, I'm giving the book a C-.Cool
