Maureen Cooper makes over her home in New England to a B&B. Running a Bed and Breakfast needs customers when writer William Byrd they hoped being a writer would bring in more customers with a favorable article, but he vanishes, Clint and Maureen Cooper inlist the aid of a TV news investigator reporter Laurel and the local policeman Scott Hunter to quietly investigate the disappearance, so they will not loose reservations..
Scott's brother Paul died in a car accident on his way to his wedding with Laurel, resulting from over indulging on the night before makes his brother Scott, blame himself for over 3 years for not driving and for drinking which was unusual for both of them.
Laurel always liked Scott and Paul when in high school. Now while staying at the B&B she meets him again. As the town police man Scott travel from town to town trying to solve the mystery. Likening each other more and more as they work together trying to quietly solve this mystery before the founding day weekend in the Berkshires at Cooper's Corner.
