Cutter Matchett is a former intelligence officer who does a bit of investigation for insurance companies. His first love is working with wood. He makes wonderful furniture. Adrienne Rhodes is a widow whose husband may have defrauded a client of $100,000 just before he died in a car crash. Cutter goes undercover working as a carpenter to discover where the money went. As he remodels an old pantry into a bathroom for the teenage daughter of the house, he turns into a counsellor and healer. The love that slowly grows between the three major characters is very endearing. The conflict that results when all the truth comes out is just the right amount of angst. This is a great read.
