Back Cover:
Italian millionaire businessman Bruno Giannella is every woman's dream: handsome, sexy, successful, and unbelievably arrogant. So Katy thinks she must be having a nightmare when he demands that she become his live-in secretary.
Surely she's imagining the electricity that sparks between them - after all, Bruno is an experienced man of the world. What would he want with a timid mouse life her?
But Bruno seems convinced that there's a sensual woman hiding beneath his
temporary secretary's mousy exterior...and unleashing her inner desires is top on his agenda...
My Review:
Mmmm. I liked the flare up of chemistry between the hero/heroine. The hero was an intensely sexy man, and I liked that we saw the inner workings of his brain a little, as revealed by what he looked at, how he glanced here or there, what he said, what he noticed or didn't notice! His growing awareness of the heroine was disconcerting to him. The heroine blushed and squeaked adorably, she was a believable shy woman (though some readers might find her a throwback from the past). I liked how they had a pretend engagement which the hero wanted to make into a real marriage. I loved how he confessed his feelings, and the fact that he did it first. I loved seeing the heroine fight like mad to get out of the engagement, she wasn't clingy, she knew it was pretend and she wasn't trying to use it to hang onto her man and use it to make him part of her life on any terms: for her it was love or no marriage/engagement.
The one thing I didn't really like was that in one evening the hero/heroine kissed, the hero's girlfriend saw and dumped him, and then the hero/heroine jumped willingly and unrestricted into bed. A little hesitancy is expected, especially since the heroine was a virgin and had avoided leaping into bed with other men.
I loved the ending scene, yummy attitude towards babies. I love to see a hero happy at the idea of a baby.
Heroine: Bruno! I could be pregnant!
Hero: Let's hope so my love. And if not, tommorrow is another day...
Rating: 4/5 stars, this was a really enjoyable book, not icky, and it was just a feel good read. (w-w-w, if you're looking for a book that wasn't disappointing, try this one! lol)
