Holding Out for a Hero by Vicki Lewis Thomson 1996

This is a nice story of a a divorce with a young child seeking a husband to regain custody of her young son but requiring a strong stable relationship built first. Dori Mae Fitzpatrick saw and wrote to Tanner Jones after seeing his picture in Texas Men magazine seeking a partner. Wealthy entrepreneur Tanner wanted to be appreciated for himself rather than his fortune. There is immediate chemistry but Dori wished to allow a relationship to develop.

Her ex-husband throws a few spaners in the works by having Tanner attacked and Dori is adamant she does want to marry another wealthy man and be subdugated as a result.

The characters are portrayed well and it was a pleasant read.
