A little late posting this, I tend to forget to do my review but there will be tons more coming. Little used book shop near my home I love to death! Any ways...
Leslie Meadows and Matt D'Angelo have been best friends for years, they know eachother better than anyone else. Things change though when days before christmas Matt decides to bring a woman he has been seeing home to meet his family. A coffee addict ( man of my heart here), Matt talks Shayla ( woman he's seeing) into letting him stop for coffee. Matt walks into the seemingly ordinary diner, to find one uptight waitress and two men with guns demanding any valuables. All seems lost to Matt, and gets even worse when Shayla walks into the diner. All hell breaks loose, people are shot and dead, including the gunmen, Matt is shot twice, and Shayla, is dead. Living with the grief, and now the torment of his hand being damaged from being shot Matt sinks low in life, almost giving up on his wonderful career in microsurgery. A year later Matt comes home to find his best friend Leslie Meadows, with some strange man who's a little to full of himself. Trying to cope with the changes in himself and the changes in his relationship with Leslie, Matt seems to sink even lower. After the town doctor left to help his daughter give birth and wont be back for atleast another month, Matt decides to help out at the clinic where Leslie works. When things start to shift between Matt and Leslie from friends to something much different Leslie struggles to maintain the friendship that has been her rock all her life. Matt, her best friend, her rock. Years previous when her father beat her and her mother badly in alcholic fits, man proved to be the person she'd always need. When things get messy, with Matt's father in the hospital thanks to Leslie's father, Matt accidently Blurts out her father really isn't her father, her father died years ago in a plane crash. The two battle their own emotion problems, Matt with his injuries and ego, Leslie with her father, and Matt, eventually cross the barried of friends to far to turn back. In the end Matt realizes how much he loves Leslie, and Leslie finally admits how she's always loved him :P
