Kidnapped by the Cowboy by Pam Crooks, H. Historical, #901, June 2008 (related to Untamed Cowboy)
After he was wrongly convicted of a crime he didn't commit, TJ Grier knew Callie Mae Lockett could never love him as he loved her. Because it was Callie Mae's brother that TJ was convicted of killing. Now to prove his innocence he kidnaps her. Callie Mae not only starts having doubts about TJ's guilt, but starts to feel attracted to TJ and is engaged to a man that TJ claims is behind her brother's death. But can he prove his innocence in time and claim Callie Mae as his? Will she believe him about her intended?
This was a little slow starting. The beginning epilogue gave us quite a mystery though. I wasn't too impressed with Callie Mae. She has led a privileged life. I don't know how much seeing how poorer folks lived had much of an impact, because I didn't see much. Later on she let her pride get in way of her happiness. If her mother (h in Untamed Cowboy) hadn't played matchmaker she may have hung on to her pride. She did show some spirit though but I don't think she was TJ's equal. I thought TJ was honourable and forgiving. Any woman he loved would be a very lucky woman.
