Kiss of Crimson by Lara Adrian (Dell)

From the back: He comes to her more dead than alive, a towering black-clad stranger riddled with bullets and rapidly losing blood. As she struggles to save him, veterinarian Tess Culver is unaware that the man calling himself Dante is no man at all, but one of the Breed, vampire warriors engaged in a desperate battle. In a single erotically charged moment Tess is plunged into his world as shifting, shadowed place where bands of Rogue vampires stalk the night, cutting a swath of terror.

Haunted by visions of a dark future, Dante lives and fights like ther eis no tomorrow. Tess is a complication he does not need but now, with his brethren under attact, he must shield Tess from a frowing threat that includes Dante himself. For with one reckless, irresistible kiss, she has become an inexticable part of his underworld realm. . . and his touch awakens her to hidden gifts, desires, and hungers she never knew she possessed. Bonded by blood, Dante and Tess must work together to thwart deadly enemies, even as they discover a passion that transcends the boundaries of life itself.

This is book two in the Midnight Breed series. I really enjoyed book one but I think this one was just as good. Dante goes after a Rogue vampire but he soon finds out this one is different from other Rogue vampires. He doesn't die the way the Rogue usually do. Soon he is ambushed and finds himself floating in the river after an explosion. He needs to get help and finds Tess's veteranarian shop. After taking Tess's blood, he discovers that he has done something that he can never change. He has taken the blood of a Breedmate. Dante must now keep her save as he tries to discover who is pushing the new drug, Crimsom, that is turning vampire rogue. Tess and Dante are hot and steamy together. I am looking forward to reading the next book. I am also wondering about Serling Chase and if he has story coming.

Hi Kathy,

After reading this one, I am looking forward to book 3. I was surprised at the heroine for that one and I'm interested to see how things work out for the characters. Especially after reading this one, book 2.
