The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch (audio)

Randy Pausch is a Professor at Carnegie Mellon who found out he only has six months to live.  He gives a “last lecture” at his college about “really achieving you childhood dreams”.  This book talks about the lecture, but also about the process.  It is a great book from a man who has a wonderful outlook on life.   There are a lot of time management ideas and life style issues that he writes about, but in truth it is simply a love story to his family and friends.  I would highly recommend this book to anyone.  And a great piece of news, I looked up him on Google after reading it and discovered although he was given 3 to 6 months to live in the Fall of 2007, he is still alive and although having health issues still enjoying some good days. Totals – 110 - 73 Harlequin, 26 Non-Harlequin, 11audio, 4 re-read TBR Challenge – 19 out of 99 TBR2 Challenge – Books Acquired – 68 books, 60 books read, 39 library books (99 total print) NFM

The Last Lecture

I've been waffling about reading this or listening to it or skipping it all together.  You've convinced me that I really need to give it a listen.

Sandi - The story is not

Sandi - The story is not morose at all, very insipiring, I think as a teacher, you would especially enjoy it.  I was really saddened when I read he died last week.  I mean I knew it was going to happen, but a part of me wanted him to find that miracle.   I hope you give it a shot and enjoy it.

He just passed away this week--but what a man! He was all about LIVING with cancer, not waiting to die. May he RIP.
