I have eagerly been waiting for this new book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood. At last it has been released. It took me a little while to get into it as it has been such a long time since I read the last book in this series. Once I got into the story it was very hard to put down. There were so many layers (or stories, shoud I say!) to this story that it was like reading a number of stories in one go but no real ending to each story visible yet.
Lover Enshrined centers around Phury, Zsadist's twin brother and a vampire in the Black Dagger Brotherhood, who makes the ultimate sacrifice and stands in for his fellow brother to become the shosen - the one who will save the brotherhoods bloodlines.
Tormented by the love for his twin's mate, he devotes his passion to the higher good of his race and forbids himself from being distracted by a romantic reltionship.
The war with the Lessening society is graver than ever, and the brothers need the few warriors they have to fight. Phury is resigned never to divert hmself with love or put his brothers in jeopardy, until he comes face to face with the only woman who can tempt his heart and make hime question his chosen destiny.....
In this book, you get an insight into the demons that are plaguing Rehv and some of his history and the reasons behind it. Also John's friend Qhuinn goes through an ordeal which enables him to accept a new identity and also his friendship with Blay is tested through the revealing of some hidden truths which change their friendship somewhat. John's desire for someone is revealed at the beginning of the story and also the reappearance of Tohr is slowly revealed to the reader although anonymously. There is also a connecting story regarding Lash who undergoes a surprising transformation.
Overall I would say this story was fabulous. I loved reading the whole book and am eager to read more from the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I wonder whose story will be next?!.....
