No one knows the burdens of secrets like Delia Dupuis and Max Mitchell. Max is the handyman at his brother`s inn, working, yet hiding from his recent past. Delia is living a nightmare as she tries to protect herself and her daughter from her husband. Riverview Inn and the Mitchell family have offered her a job and unknowingly a refuge, yet she cannot hide for long.
I didn`t become as attached to the characters in this second installment in the series, as compared to the first edition. It seemed repetitive the way both characters lived by their guilt, and the moments I enjoyed where when they were abe to break free and move forward. New developments arise in the mystery surrounding Max`s mother`s disappearance from his childhood that are interesting. Overall, it was a good read, however seemed to be lacking the sense of home and family that Gabe`s story offered.
