The Manning Sisters by Debbie Macomber, MIRA 2008

The Manning Sisters is actually two of Debbie Macomber's earlier books reissued in one volumne.  These stories have stood the test of time.

The Cowboys Lady  Originally published in 1990

Taylor Manning has come to Cougar Point, Montana for a year to recover from a relationship.  Her plan is to spend a year there teaching then return to Seattle where her family lives.  Cougar Point is a small dot on the map that is going to give Taylor some big surprises!

Russ Palmer is one of the ranchers in the Cougar Point area.  He is handsome, opinionated, stubborn and very attracted to the new school teacher, Taylor.

Russ & Taylor's journey to love is an interesting tale of two opposites attracting.  This was most enjoyable and reminded me of the type of writing that attracted me to Debbie Macomber many years ago.

I don't have my totals with me!

The Sheriff Takes a Wife  Originally published in 1990.

Christy Manning comes to Montana to help her sister, Taylor, out when she gives birth to her first child.  Christy is not quite prepared for Taylor to go into labor the morning after her arrival.  Thank heavens they are able to get a hold of Sheriff Cody Franklin to help them find Taylor's husband so they can get to the hospital.

Christy and Cody are very attracted to one another but is it just all the excitement of being in the hospital when Eric is born or is there something else going on?  Christy has recently become engaged to James but is not wearing a ring because it is being sized.  When Cody finds out about Christy's engagement he feels like once again a woman has deceived him and made a fool of him.

The story of Christy & Cody's relationship hits some rocky spots but does have its happily ever after.

Rating: Very Good   Steaminess: Romantic

yay..Debbie Macomber!!!

I liked these stories....she always writes great characters.

Since these stories were originally published as seperate books, you can count them as two seperate books on your blog (thats what I did).

Got Books?

Debbie Macomber

Donna, I've actually been planning on reading some Debbie M. books.  I'm in desperate need of a new favourite author, since all my favourites don't really have any new books out until next year.  I figured I'd give Debbie a chance since everyone always raves about her.  This sounds like a good book choice to start with...

Donna, did you do two entries for this?

I'm not seeing two but if I understand your entry correctly, these were originally two full-length books. That means that you can "review" them each with their own entry.

One...

I just counted this as one even though the books were originally issued as two separate books.  My computer crashed over a week ago & I am using a friends.  Since I only get to be on the computer occasonally until mine is back I just did the easiest thing.   I just posted two more books but have more at home that I have finished reading.  It is hard for me to pile up a lot of books & then blog about them.  I forget things!!  There is also other "crisis" stuff going on in my life so the Challenge is way down on my list right now.  Darn!  Life is just tough sometimes.  I'll get back with more books soon, I hope!

You can handwrite your challenge entries

and mail them in. The info is in the magazine that Harl. puts out however often -- it came in my mail yesterday. I assume that anything they input for you won't be tied to your blog, but it might be the best option for you right now. Just keep a piece of notebook paper handy, write down the info as you finish each book, and give them the info that they need (assuming your handwriting is legibleSmile).
