Marked

OMG, I just realized I was entering reviews on my personal blog. Yup, it's official, I am losing it!

I'm thrilled to have stumbled across this wonderful new YA paranormal series by the Cast mother/daughter team. The voice is compelling, the characters realistic and appealing, and the plot is riveting. Nice combination! The Casts' vampire world is rich and interesting, with a few twists on the typical vampire myth. Heroine Zoey is "marked"--given a mark on the forehead that manifests her vampire nature and changes her life. She must leave her home, her school, her friend (including her persistent not quite ex boyfriend) and go to live at the House of Night, the boarding school for young vampires. There she must learn all about her new life, make new friends--including one compelling love interest--and face enemies the like of which she never imagined. Making an enemy of the most powerful girl in school is just the beginning.... It's high school with a bloody twist, and the plot twists keep coming. And thank goodness, this book is just the beginning!
