Mimosa Grove By Sharon Sala

When Laurel Scanlol needs a fresh start, she retreats to Mimosa Grove, an old estate outside Bayou Jean, Louisiana. Bequethed to her by her maternal grandmother, Laurel loves its sense of history. But amidst prmevel beauty she sense something...unfinished.

Laurel has the gift, or perhaps curse of sight. The local people treat her with reverence, especially when Laurel helps the police find a missing girl. It's then that she sees Justin Bouvier - a stranger yet a soul mate, and the man who haunts her dreams.

But there is danger in Mimosa Grove, not from the restless past, but from the deadly present. Laurel has to stop tragedy and history from repeating themselves but tp do that she must trust the one person she can't - herself.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book as it consisted of all the ingrediants I love in the book. Be it romance, the haunting, the murder mystery and also the element of psychic ability that Laurel has. SHe is afraid to show her abilities as she has always been ridiculed because of it. Moving to Mimosa Grove shows her another side to people who actually seek her out to solve problems and they trust her abilities which is unheard of in the city where she lived. Laurel's trust and confidence in her ability are developed once she moves to Mimosa and through the postive and awed response she gets from the people in the town her self-confidence goes through a transformation.

The romance angle in the story was lovely to read about. Both Laurel and Justin met each other in ther dreams and loved each other. When they meet in the flesh, so to speak, they are dumbfounded to see the person they have been loving in their dreams. The connection, the trust and steadfastness of Justin in the face of Laurel's ability is surprising as they had only just met. Justin stood by her and was a shoulder for her to lean on. I wish there was men like that in the world who would stand by their woman no matter what.

The book was full of suspense and mystery. Questions that arose when reading the book were shrouded in suspense and were revealed at the ending of the book. What happened to Chantelle, Laurel's great grandmother (early 1800s) who was reported missing? What is the connection between Marie's (Mimosa housekeeper) and Laurel's family? All these questions will be revealed when you read the book.
