MISSING PERSONS by Shirlee McCoy (LIS #88)

coverSYNOPSIS:  Lauren Owen had reservations about returning to Magnolia College but she couldn't resist helping with the fund raiser.  Surely her old flame, Seth Chartrand, won't be at the auction!

Seth can't ignore the attraction he still feels for Lauren but he's already had one marriage and his primary concern is his son, Jake.  Jake has a very serious food allergy and Seth's life revolves around Jake.  Can Seth and Lauren reignite the flame?  And just who is making threats against Lauren anyway?  Is it tied to the body found at the college (see HIDDEN IN THE WALL)?

MY THOUGHTS:  MISSING PERSONS is a nice, comfortable read about friends reuniting.  I really enjoyed the entire atmosphere as it evoked many of my own college memories and thoughts of friendships long past.  Some of the ties from college continue to this day, however, and MISSING PERSONS really brought out all of those memories.

But... Jake truly steals the show in this one.  Who can't help but love this kid?  He wants so desperately to fit in! Shirlee McCoy did a phenomenal job at showing some of the consequences a food allergy can have on a child as Jake's situation tugs at the emotional heartstrings.
